Why We Moved to a Paid Consultation Model
- Dallas & Gracey Law Firm

If you've reached out to Dallas & Gracey in the past, you may have been able to schedule a free initial consultation. Starting in April 2026, we've moved to a $150 paid consultation fee for new clients — and we want to take a minute to explain why.

It's Not About the Money
Honestly, $150 doesn't make or break anyone's legal budget. This change isn't about revenue — it's about respect for your time and ours.
Free consultations sound great in theory, but in practice they attract a lot of tire-kickers, people who aren't quite ready to move forward, or situations that fall well outside what we handle. That means less availability for the people who genuinely need us and are ready to act.

What You Get for $150
When you sit down with Attorney Cheryl Gracey, you're getting focused, one-on-one legal attention from someone who's been practicing in this region for years. In your consultation you can expect:
A clear breakdown of your legal situation and options
An honest assessment of how your case might proceed
Answers to your most pressing questions
No pressure, no surprises
If you move forward and hire the firm, the consultation fee is applied toward your retainer.
We're Still Here to Help
This change doesn't mean we're any less accessible. It just means that when we do sit down together, we can give you our full attention — because you've made the commitment to show up ready to have a real conversation.
If you're facing a family law matter, criminal charge, or probate issue in the Augusta area, we'd love to hear from you.
